Talia Randall

five minutes before a shame

i hold my giblets
up to the light
see how ugly
the plastic bag is
bleach is the best filter
through which to examine
the greypink details
choke down
on a can of milk
is that dough i can smell
or a cherry flavoured condom
grip the plastic shower hose
orifices slimed with mildew
a mandatory splash of water
dishwasher warm
make a tent from a rubber glove
zip down the flaps
curl up quiet
as a grub
small as a daughter
