Ness Owen

Paul Spider’s House

Paul Spider’s house looks
over my house. I know
he’s watching. Pity
lingers behind nicotined
curtains. A witness to
my ritual existence.
He told me one drunken
New Year’s Night by the
dying poinsettia in the
kitchen but my house
overlooks Paul Spider’s
house. I’ve seen his
computer-fascination.
I told him one drunken
New Year’s Night. I think
we have an understanding.
