ABOUT THE JUDGE

Zaffar Kunial’s lives in Hebden Bridge. His debut pamphlet was published by Faber & Faber in 2014 as part of the Faber New Poets series. In the same year he became the Wordsworth Trust Poet-in-Residence. He has twice been a prize-winner in the National Poetry Competition. He left his full-time job as a ‘Creative Writer' for Hallmark Cards when he won a Northern Writers’ Award in 2013. In 2015 he won the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize. His full-length collection US (2018) was published by Faber & Faber.
